Description

Join us for an EVERY BODY Community Life Drawing Circle session in Folkestone! Our ethos is to be inclusive, welcoming artists and models of all bodies and levels of experience. UPCOMING SESSIONS: Sunday 8th September, 5-7pm at Fourth Wall with Dee as our model Thursday 26th September, 7-9pm at Sunflower House with Bella as our model Thursday 28th November, 7-9pm at Sunflower House with Emma as our model FORMAT: The sessions run for 2 hours with a ~15 minute social break in the middle. Refreshments will be provided, but please feel free to bring your own snacks if you like too. There will be some warm up drawing exercises to get us going and a mix of poses and pose lengths (1-30mins). WHAT TO BRING?: Some materials available (e.g. clip boards, some paper, pencils, rubbers, pastels and charcoal), but please bring your own materials if you can so that these can be shared with those who don't have their own. Beginners with no materials absolutely welcome! SUPPORTIVE AND INCLUSIVE ENVIRONMENT: We are committed to working with inclusive and accessible venues. Our main venue, Sunflower House, is a community focussed centre whose ethos is well-aligned with our own. It is accessible to wheelchair users and toilets are gender neutral during our sessions (including the more spacious disability-friendly bathroom). Unfortunately, Fourth Wall is on a steep street which is cobbled an uneven. There is a step up into the space, and although it is on one level and the floors are flat and even, the doors are narrow therefore we regret that there is no wheelchair access to this venue. Please note, this is a peer-supported space, with no formal instruction. It is a space for fun and encouragement. We welcome the sharing of positive feedback on each other's work, but this is not a place to ask for or to give critique. There is no obligation to share your art work with others if you don't want to. COST: EVERY BODY is a not for profit community project. We are asking for £5 per ticket to cover the model's fee and our admin costs. We are also offering £2.50 concession tickets if £5 is a barrier to you. If paying £2.50 is still a barrier for you, please get in touch, and we can work something out. Our venues have kindly provided their space and some refreshments free of charge, but donations are welcome (and very much appreciated). You can donate when purchasing your ticket (by selecting the ticket+donation option) or making a cash donation on the day.

Cancellation Policy

To cancel, please give as much notice as possible to allow others to attend as spaces are limited. Cancellations made up to 24 hours before the start time will be refunded. Cancellations made later than this will not be refunded as it is unlikely that the space will be able to be given to someone else.
